Professor Anupam Sibal has been a paediatrician for more than twenty-five years. Prof Sibal established the division of pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology in 1997 at Apollo Hospital, Delhi. He helped set up the first successful pediatric liver transplant program in India at Apollo Delhi in 1998. The Apollo Transplant Program has performed more than 3800 liver transplants out of which 426 have been in children, the highest in India.

He has been serving as the Group Medical Director of the Apollo Hospitals Group, India’s largest corporate healthcare provider since 2005.

Prof. Sibal was appointed as a Honorary Clinical Professor at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia in May 2015. He served as a member of the Institute Body (IB) of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, (PGIMER) Chandigarh from 2009 – 2014. IB is the highest decision-making body of PGIMER headed by the Union Cabinet Minister for Health.

Prof. Sibal is the President of Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO). The aim of the organization is to bring together 1.4 million physicians of Indian origin in the world on one professional platform from 53 countries.

Prof Sibal is on the Editorial Board of 3 Journals and has 115 publications. He has edited a Textbook of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
